Environmental Leaders Host Asian Delegation
DENVER, CO, June 24, 1999
� Five leading Colorado international environmental business development
organizations will host 14 Asian business and government leaders from
India, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia Wednesay, June 24 �26 in the
Denver, CO, area. The visit is part of a week-long tour of Denver, CO,
Washington, DC, and Minneapolis, MN, to meet with environmental
businesses, state technical assistance enterprises, university-based
programs, professional and industry associations. The tour fosters trade
and information linkages among U.S. industrial environmental experts and
their Asian counterparts to address the issues facing Asian industry
today of financial sustainability, work force development, energy
efficiency and global climate change.
The Colorado Pollution Prevention Partnership
(P3), The Colorado Environmental Business Alliance Ambassador Program,
Geotech Environmental Equipment, Inc., Partnership Architecture and the
Partnership for Environmental Technology Education are hosting
executives from the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Indonesian Department of
Industry and Trade, Thailand Pollution Control Department and
Environmental Engineers Association, and the Penang Skills Development
Center from Malaysia.
In addition to partnership building and
private-public extension model training, the Asian delegation will
participate in a demonstration of innovative groundwater equipment that
includes analytical, sampling and remediation technologies at the
Geotech Manufacturing facility in Denver on Thursday, June 24.
The Colorado Pollution Prevention Partnership
(P3), Littleton, CO, is one of the leading pollution prevention
organizations in the U.S., comprised of businesses and governments
promoting voluntary pollution reduction measures.
The Ambassador Program, Denver, CO, assists
small-to medium-sized businesses to form relationships vital to reaching
environmental international markets. It is part of the Colorado
Environmental Business Alliance and the Denver Mayor�s Office of
Economic Development and International Trade, Colorado International
Trade Office, World Trade Center Denver, and the U.S. Export Assistance
Center.
Geotech Environmental Equipment, Inc., Denver,
CO, is a leader in manufacturing and distribution of ground water
sampling, analytical, filtration and remediation equipment since 1978.

technical matchmaking services to international organizations and
environmental companies to promote the global exchange of knowledge.
Partnership for Environmental Technology
Education, Westminster, CO, is a national non-profit organization that
links the technical resources of the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency, and other state, federal and local
agencies, private industry, and educational institutions.
The United States�Asia Environmental
Partnership (US-AEP), which is a public-private interagency program led
by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is
sponsoring the trip. US-AEP, launched as a presidential initiative in
1992, promotes environmentally sound economic growth in Asia by
mobilizing American technologies, services and experience. Its goal is
to promote a "clean revolution" in Asia�the development and adoption of
less-polluting and more-resource-efficient products, processes and
services in the Asian region.
