Pieter Verkerk is a civil engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the environmental
field. He worked both with industry and government. He has been Director of Water and Air,
Deputy Director-General and served more than ten years as Inspector-General for Environmental
Protection of the Netherlands before he was appointed by the Minister of Environment to become
the Environment Counselor to the USA and Canada at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Washington DC.

CALPERS, the California Public Employees' Retirement System, is the world's largest public pension fund and stands for manages more than $151 billion in assets. Mr. Park will discuss the possible fall-out from CALPERS decision to move their emerging market investments from SE Asia and other Asian investment reports.
Jacob Park is a Senior Research Consultant for Governance and Socially Responsible Investment and Japanese and Asian equity specialist for Friends Ivory & Sime, a London-based fund management company with $60 billion in retail and institutional funds. He is also a research scholar specializing in global governance and business-society issue in the Harrison Program on the Future Global Agenda, University of Maryland.

The US Government has engaged with the World Bank and regional development banks on environmental issues for well over a decade. During that time, the US role has evolved, partially in response to changes within the Banks themselves. The discussion will examine recent interventions and explore options for future roles in promoting environmentally-sustainable outcomes from Bank activities.
Dr. Keith Kozloff is the Senior Environmental Advisor in the Office of International Affairs at the Department of Treasury. Prior to coming to Treasury, he was an international consultant focusing on energy and environmental policy and development issues and before that, a Senior Associate with the World Resources Institute. He has conducted projects in Asia and Latin America.

Scott Matthews is the
Research Director of the Green Design Initiative at Carnegie Mellon
University in Pittsburgh, PA. He is also a Research Faculty member of the
Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie Mellon.
Green Design Initiative
was established in 1992 to promote environmentally conscious engineering,
product and process design, manufacturing, and architecture. The initiative
involves forming partnerships with industrial corporations, foundations, and
government agencies to develop joint research and education programs which
improve environmental quality while encouraging sustainable economic
development.

Watergy efficiency
refers to the range of water efficiency and energy efficiency activities
that help water utilities provide consumers with water services while saving
energy.
Kevin James manages the
Sustainable Cities Initiative and the Municipal Water Pumping Efficiency
effort, projects which focus on capacity development at the municipal level
and seek to create critical links between the public, private, and NGO
sectors.
The Alliance to Save
Energy is a nonprofit coalition of prominent business, government,
environmental, and consumer leaders who promote the efficient and clean use
of energy worldwide to benefit the environment, the economy, and national
security.
